Jeremiah 29:11
Sometimes we need some extra help. My mission is to be your help and support while guiding you through whatever part of your life has led you here. Often times that "thing" is addiction, yours or someone you love. There are blind spots and paths we've never been down and need help navigating to continue moving forward and living the life we were meant to live! Renewed hope, clarity, healing, and transformation are all possible!
A counselor can be defined as the provision of guidance in resolving personal conflicts, difficulties and emotional problems. A coach is defined as someone who inspires, instructs and trains and consults. Sometimes you need one and sometimes you need both! I have been credentialed since 2007 and am currently a fully licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC) with the state of Texas.
Over the last 17 years I've watched addiction ravage individuals, families, friends, and their loved ones. At the same time, I've watched miracles and healing transform lives and relationships. This has inspired and equipped me to work with the unique and evolving needs of both the recovering addict AND the needs of those closest to them. It’s helped me understand the individual needs of adult children of alcoholics that are suffering in relationships and continue in painful dysfunctional patterns (even though they may not have an addict currently in their life). These needs are often vast and contain hidden wounds that get overlooked and unaddressed. Over time, they take their toll. Adult children of alcoholics as well as those who have an addict in their life often suffer silently not understanding the significant need for healing or the reason for depression and other related ailments. Addiction impacts the entire family. THERE IS HOPE.
It's time to live again!
First of all, I'm glad you're here!
In 2007, I made a bold decision to change my life. I left behind a comfortable and familiar 15-year career in real estate and mortgage banking. During that time, I was able to demonstrate leadership skills by managing sales teams and overseeing operations, and even earned some rewards and accolades along the way. The only problem was, I was growing miserable. I’d always wanted a career that allowed me to somehow make a difference in someone's life. Little did I know, I’d have to lose my current life to gain the one my purpose was drawing me toward. It was terrifying! I found myself back in school and entering the world of addiction. While starting this work, I simultaneously discovered what it meant to be the daughter of an alcoholic father and the impact it was continuing to make on my life (it was sneaky since he was a “functional” alcoholic). My experience into the world of working in addiction treatment was underway as was my own healing journey. Since then, I’ve been honored to be a part of many lives speaking into their journey at just the right time. I've had the privilege of working alongside some of the best in addiction treatment who I still collaborate with today. I started my career working with young adults, helping them successfully attend college while they resided in a treatment facility. Subsequently, I continued to work with both young adults and women, helping them navigate through those difficult places life sometimes finds us. I’ve helped them find their identity and worth and who they uniquely were created to be while meeting their own personal goals and finding healing. Over the years, my knowledge and growth expanded across various national platforms specializing in substance use disorders, process addictions, mental and behavioral health, and toxicology in drug testing. My versatile roles encompassed that of Counselor, Case Manager, Recovery Coach, Program Director, Clinical Outreach, Business Development and Sales, and Account Management. My diverse background has opened my eyes and equipped me to understand the unique and evolving needs of the recovering addict AND the needs of those closest to them. I found my God given strengths and talents in the ability to inspire, motivate and guide my clients, with empathy and intuitive clarity toward rediscovering hope, healing, building life skills, and finding a renewed sense of purpose and strength. My father passed away in 2019 never having recovered. He'll always be a part of my story. This business is dedicated to him and to everyone who's felt the brutal sting of addiction.
Love you, Dad!
